It's hard to believe that over 50 years have gone by since we graduated. In 1970 I started attending San Diego State with classmates Valarie Frowick and Anne Smith. Three years later I moved to New Mexico where I finished my degree in Anthropology/Native American Studies and got a Master's in Special Education. My first teaching job was at a small school in the Jemez mountains of NM. The population was mostly from 2 pueblos--Zia and Jemez. While teaching in a Gifted/Talented program (a first for Native education!) I met my future husband who at that time was the football coach. After Roger completed his law degree we moved to his home state of Oklahoma where we have raised our son and daughter and where I later resumed my teaching career and my artistic pursuits. I am looking forward to seeing my classmates and hopefully former teachers, many of whom had a profound impact on me during my adolescence. May we all arrive safely and in good health.
